For our pair skaters Lori-Ann Matte and Thierry Ferland, it has now been 5 weeks since they were able to resume training on the ice. Their summer plan is everything but set. From week to week, their schedules are very different. Adaptation is the notion that most describes their return to post-COVID training. Thierry tells us: we must show both understanding and determination towards the new regulations put in place by the government. It is obvious that pursuing our training sessions in their usual form will not return anytime soon…
The Saint-Léonard arenas, where they skated for the past 3 years, are still closed to this day. The couple skates at the Sainte-Julie arena. They keep their heads up while exercising off the ice as well as on the ice. And they still do not yet know if they will be able to compete this fall.
