Last September, Lori-Ann Matte and Thierry Ferland competed in their first international meet of the season. This time, the action was happening in Salt Lake City, USA.
Lori-Ann was looking anxious to leave and above all to represent Canada because it was the first time they would skate in that part of America. The highlands of Salt Lake made it an additional challenge to perform at altitude. It was not the first time they faced such a situation, but adjustments were needed. So, they had planned their training accordingly in order to arrive as prepared as possible.
According to Lori-Ann, the competition in general went well. We finished in 8th place with an international record for us (our personal best). She loved her experience and especially liked the fact that they were 3 couples from the same skate school to participate.
Outside the competition, they had a lot of fun visiting the city and having a good time with friends.
